Finally nailed the Sony ...

Called a sony engineer from Indiranagar branch, he was old timer and good person, checked the TV to find that its only the LD board that is broken, the display is fine.. 3 months ago, the same sony gave me estimation of close to 40K to repair the TV and now this guy is saying its only the LD panel thats broken and it may cost about 4K. that's it... send an email to sony folks as below and they came running .... they replaced the LD board and yet to ask for money .... they are all crooks.. I say ************************************************************************************************************* Hello Sony, Well I know you have guys gathered in delhi for brainstroming how to further drown sony... meanwhile, a nice service engineer came from the indira nagar and after diagnosis, says, that its only LD board that is broken. and Display panel is fine. He came with a spare LD board, the TV played for close to 40 minutes... What you have to say about your earlier diagnosis wherein you suggested to change the display panel and LD board for a massive cost. Freaking looters, want to rip off customers.. and make money... this country is going to dogs, one cannot trust doctors who wants to conduct un-required surgeries, one cannot trust service engineers...who want to replace the working parts...and the politicians are busy colluding with corporates to grow GDP withour increasing the standard of living for the masses Development my foot... - Pawan

Copying Esteemed Cabinet members Mr Jaitely, Mr Prasad, Mr Gowda

Sony has indulged in to corruption by making false promises that Sony TV will run for 90,000 hours. However, the TV died in less than 1000 hours and Sony says that the death is natural. The cost of repair is more than 1/3 of the cost of the TV.

In absence of strong consumer protection laws, sony is dumping faulty TVs in India.

Please intervene.... GDP growth and development is all good.. but what about an ordinary citizen's rights?? How to deal with these big and powerful companies ??

How to realise Ache Din ?????

Reminder 7

Dear Sony Team,

This is not natural death of sony TV, but infant mortality, and it must be looked in to. The natural life as claimed by you guys is 100,000 hours but your television died much before its well deserved life .while stuck on the wall. ..I don't think your TV even completed 700 hours..it's a shame ...

Now come to customer service, you must hire some people for hotel industry, specially from Tata Hotels, in your customer care department ... I see that you have hired highly educated and egoistic excel crunchers who can only write standard responses and nothing else.  Learn from tata hotels, what customer service means... You have no clue..

You may win an argument against an innocent customer, but you cannot win customer loyalty. Mark my wards, this is the beginning of the downfall of sony...you guys will become history if you stay on this path.

If the death of your sony television in 700 hours is natural then on what basis you claim it's 100,000 hours

I have set a KPI for myself, to share this bitter experience with 100,000 people every year... Let's see how it goes....the view count on the blog is already increasing..

Keep you posted... My god bless the sony with some sanity....

I have documentary evidence where you claimed that the Sony's LED display life is 100,000 hours. The life does not mean that it will die after 100,000 hours. it only means, the brightness may reduce after 100,000 hours.

Having said that, As per Six Sigma quality standards, One should see only 3.4 defects per million  of TV's for Sony to officially declare that Sony TV display got 100,000 hours of life

it should not be very difficult for you to find out how many sony TV sets died before their natural life, specially in India.

I plan to write registered letters to every constitutional/regulatory body (Supreme Court of India, Consumer Affairs, PMO, Mr Narendra Modi, Your offices in India, Japan) that you can think of, very soon. You cannot make false claims without having scientific evidence.

Now coming to the horrendous quality of your TV's,  Lets say you buy a honda car for let say Rs 15 lakhs, you get free service for 1 year. thereafter the car stops one day, you go to honda service center, and you are asked to pay 5 lakhs to change the engine. even though the car goes thru much wear and tear...  what would you think  ?your TV is stuck on the wall. Your quality should be much better than cars ..
In fact, Honda cars run for decades just with regular oil change.

I'm thoroughly convinced, in absence of strict consumer protection laws in India, my country has become dumping ground for electronics goods of pathetic quality.

Reminder -5

dear sony team,
can you please answer my following queries.

Reminder 4

Dear sony team,

I don't think you are getting my points.. Let me repeat once again.

1. Tell me the original manufacturing date, serial number, and the batch number
2. How many LED sold in 2011 unnaturally died.. I mean pre-mature deaths ?
3. What's is the root cause of these pre-mature deaths of your TVs..

Now let's come to your service engineer.  The guy in first 5 minutes declared that the display is dead...it's only when I cross questioned, he again tried few things here n there. I have no clue while playing with TV, he as well made it worse..I could see some sparks. The moment, he asked  for bowl to collect screws, I could see how un-prepared a technician could be..

Your guys can utmost repair a murphy radio.  Don't call yourselves as service engineers please...

Do you know what diagnosis means ?  It's a joke...  I'm glad, Sony is not manufacturing airplanes ...shame on sony for ripping customers by selling such lemons. Hire someone from an airline industry, you would know what diagnosis means ..

I have the complete diagnosis video recorded and ur service engineer is aware of that. I can tell you as an engineer myself...he had no clue....your service guys are not just not trained to service or diagnose...you are just in the business of replacement ..

Now, once again, all these emails automatically get posted on a public blog... And I promise you, this will become the longest blog that you would see in the history of man kind...and I'm not in a hurry,

You must do thorough diagnosis..  Now I'm least bothered to use this TV, I'm more worried about my fellow citizens who are poised to go thru the same ordeal....

sony just cannot use my country to dump these sub-standard products. I need to the complete statistics of all the TVs that you have sold and prove that all these failures are not because of the manufacturing defects. On what basis, you guys claim the life many thousand years of LED display..

I plan to copy all the MPs of my country to see this rip off.  I have a long step by step plan.. Until you tell me everything that I asked... I'm not interested in repairing this lemon.  I want the root cause analysis of this premature death of your TV

A free advice, you may want update your resume ... I don't see how you guys are going to grow with so many unhappy customers...

May God bless the Sony team with some sanity...

I sell a TV for 75000, every 2 years, I want another 20-30K to repair... Is this a freaking joke.  I would donate this money for cows instead of getting ripped off by you guys...

you get fooled once its sony's fault, you get fooled second time, its your fault. I don't want to repeast this mistake

I have read Mahatama Gandhi's autobigraphy twice since last 2 months, I know how, striving for truth needs patience and I've gotten that patience.
